ANUPA MEHTA CONTEMPORARY ART (A M C A), was founded 16 years ago by Anupa Mehta as a project space and studio gallery.  Located then in an erstwhile mill in the centre of Mumbai's historical textile district, the gallery supported artistic practice via studio exhibitions, international residencies and curatorial projects.

AMCA's new space in Colaba opened in December 2023, and the gallery continues to promote exceptional vocabularies of upcoming mid-career contemporary artists from India and overseas.

Anupa Mehta brings a nuanced curatorial understanding and a 360 degree perspective on the Indian art market, to her work as a gallerist. A pioneering arts columnist with three Indian newspapers, she was the founding editor of Art India magazine, and the author of INDIA 20, a prescient book of interviews with Indian contemporary artists.
